"Trick" is het vierde album van Jamie T, na het Top 5-album "Carry On The Grudge" uit 2014, dat een einde maakte aan een onderbreking van vijf jaar en eindigde met twee uitverkochte shows in het Londense Alexandra Palace. Aan het begin en het einde staat het de donkerste, moeilijkste en meest pessimistische van zijn decennium in de schijnwerpers.
Maar in het midden is het een rock-'n-roll-feestalbum: zij het een edgy, punky reggaefeest waar verloren meisjes botsen met 17e-eeuwse onheilsprofeten, verbannen Britten botsen met verlaten Amerikaanse steden, trad-rockgitaren botsen met speed raps en dubby baslijnen.
Het album werd opgenomen en gecoproduceerd met James Dring, die al lang samenwerkt in The Premises en Moloko Studios in Londen, en gedeeltelijk opgenomen in High Bias in Detroit. De cd wordt geleverd in een jewelcase met een boekje van 12 pagina's in kleur.
