Hugely successful sitcom that ran for eight years, from 1985 to 1992, the sequel to Till Death Do Us Part.Written by Johnny Speight, it follows the fortunes (or mis-fortunes) of bigoted pensioner Alf Garnet, played brilliantly by Warren Mitchell. We see Alf uprooted from his Wapping home and re-located to a West Ham council flat and follow all the drama and problems he brings upon himself by his very opinionated and controversial views on.. well, everything. Series 1 In Sickness and in Health is the 1985 sequel to , which found Alf and Else relocated to a flat in the East End, but the curmudgeonly old git still had plenty to moan about. His pension, the unions, having to push his wheelchair-bound wife around and, horror upon horror, their black, gay council home help, Winston - the list is endless... Series 2The second series of the Til Death Us Do Part sequel might have missed the late Dandy Nichols, but the loud-mouthed Alf Garnett is joined by a host of other great character actors including Carmel McSharry, Patricia Hayes, Irene Handl, Arthur English and Ken Campbell. Else has died and Alf is left to cope with life as a widower. Now he has to get by on a smaller pension, cook his own Sunday dinner and put up with Mrs. Hollingbery, his landlady who lives in the upstairs flat. Alf's not exactly alone, he's still got his drinking friend Arthur; exasperated neighbours, the Johnsons; Winston, the black (and gay!)social worker; his daughter, Rita; batty ex-neighbour Min and her senile sister Gwenneth and Mrs Hollingbery, who might even cook for him - if he can prove himself "handy around the house"! Series 3 The third series of the Til Death Us Do Part sequel found Alf Garnett in splendid form; giving out to anyone who’ll listen (and some who won’t) on the injustices suffered by this particular senior citizen. This series finds Warren Mitchell once again surrounded by great character actors including Carmel McSharry, Arthur English and Ken Campbell as well as Patricia Hayes and Irene Handl – and also features a special appearance by Spike Milligan as the volatile van driver, Fancy Fred. Series 4 The fourth series of the Til Death Us Do Part sequel finds Alf warming to the idea of marriage to Mrs Hollingsbury. First he’ll need the approval of her brother, who lives in Australia, so get ready for the views of one angry Englishman Down Under… Series 5 The fifth series of the Til Death Us Do Part sequel finds Alf Garnett in full flow. Pensions, poll tax, power costs and the price of a pint are all on his list as life in the 1990s begins to bite. Series 6 After two years off the air, this sixth and final series of the classic Alf Garnett comedy series was broadcast in 1992. It finds the miserly old whinger, having endured a lifetime of poverty, finally becoming rich. So is he is happy with his new-found wealth? Of course not, it’s Alf! Christmas Specials These Christmas specials, broadcast between 1985 and 1990, find Alf in great miserable form and include his last Christmas with Else; his short lived career as a store Santa; his Christmas in hospital for a hip replacement and a disastrous wedding day that leaves Mrs. Hollingbery in a less than festive mood…
