Il film segue Sophie (Ruby Barnhill) mentre viene portata via dal suo orfanotrofio dal GGG e portata nel Paese dei Giganti, dove è immediatamente a rischio di essere mangiata dagli altri giganti più grandi, tra cui Fleshlumpeater (Jemaine Clement) e Bloodbottler (Bill Hader).
Insieme, Sophie e il G.G.G. partono per un'avventura nel Paese dei Sogni, dove catturano i sogni per il GGG da regalare a tutti i bambini addormentati del mondo umano.
Dopo aver escogitato un piano astuto, la coppia torna a Londra per vedere se la regina (Penelope Wilton) può aiutarli ad affrontare il problema dei giganti prepotenti e mangiatori di bambini.
