Following on from our extremely popular and well received Four Classic Albums release The Miles Davis Quintet (AMSC1376) we have pulled together our fourth Miles set featuring more great music from not only the Quintet, but also his Sextet and as The Modern Jazz Giants. The music here is just fantastic and features some of the all-time great jazz musicians of the era. Three out of four of these albums feature the incomparable Milt Jackson on vibes and indeed Bags' Groove is an acknowledged jazz classic. But just take a look at some of the other names joining Miles and you will be blown away by the company he could gather together to make incredible music. Here's just a few of them... Jackie McLean, Ray Bryant, Arthur Taylor, Sonny Rollins, Horace Silver, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Paul Chambers, "Philly" Joe Jones, Red Garland and Percy Heath. The thrilling music these guys made under the direction of Miles Davis will live forever.
