Im Jahr 2021 wird der 90. Geburtstag des belgischen Geigers, Komponisten und Lehrers Eugene Ysaye gefeiert. Die 6 Sonaten op. 27 stehen im Mittelpunkt seines musikalischen Schaffens. Zusammen mit Johann Sebastian Bachs Sonaten und Partiten und Niccolo Paganinis 24 Capricen op. 1 sind sie Schlüsselwerke des Repertoires für Solovioline. Es geht Brilinsky nicht darum, die Technik in den Vordergrund zu stellen, sondern der Klang und vor allem die großartige Musik müssen im Vordergrund stehen. Ysaye ist polyphon wie Bach und gibt auch ein spezifisches stilistisches Porträt jedes der sechs Geiger, für die die Sonaten komponiert wurden.\x27 Brilinsky unterstreicht die Verbindung zur Wiener Schule und spielt eine Violine aus dem Jahr 1862 des Wiener Gitarrenbauers Gabriel Lembock, der auch dafür verantwortlich war für Streichinstrumente der Wiener Philharmoniker, gegründet 1842. Brilinsky wurde in Lemberg in der Ukraine geboren und begann als Fünfjähriger in seiner Heimatstadt mit dem Geigenspiel, als er mit 15 Jahren Schüler von Michael Frischenschlager an der Musikuniversität wurde und darstellende Kunst in Wien. Seit 2011 ist er Mitglied der Wiener Philharmoniker. In diesem Jahr gewann er ein Vorsingen für die Hauptgeige, 2014 dann auch die Position des Oberprincipals.
