Dies ist der zweite und letzte Band der Werke von Herbert Sumsion, der Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts Organist und Musikmeister an der Kathedrale von Gloucester war. Als großer Freund von Sir Edward Elgar komponierte er eine Reihe von Orgelmusikstücken, deren Stil ganz in der Tradition der englischen Orgelmusik seiner Zeit steht. Hier und auf Band eins PRCD 1075 aus der Kathedrale von Salisbury führt Daniel Cook (jetzt Organist der Westminster Abbey) diese schönen Werke, die neu in den Katalogen sind, zum ersten Mal auf der Orgel der St. Davids Cathedral in Wales auf.
