In den Jahren 1982–83 schien es sich bei Deux Filles um ein Paar junger Französinnen, Claudine Coule und Gemini Forque, zu handeln, die durch tragische Umstände zu einem berauschenden, pastoralen Avantgarde-Post-Punk zusammengebracht wurden, der mit gesampelten Dialogen und gelegentlich ihrem eigenen Gesang verwoben war. In Wahrheit waren es der ehemalige Kinderschauspieler, junge Teenager-Pop-Idol und baldige Filmmusikkomponist Simon Fisher Turner und Colin Lloyd Tucker, beide Mitglieder einer frühen Inkarnation von The The, die das Konzept so weit brachten, sich als Mädchen zu verkleiden Albumhüllen und sogar einen Auftritt in voller Verkleidung. Die Musik selbst ist absolut bezaubernd; eine erhaben umgesetzte Interpretation von Eno-artigem Ambient, gallischem Pop und europäischem Progressive Rock. Und jetzt sind sie zurück mit zwei wunderschönen seitlichen Suiten: „Intuition“ und „Sweet Animal Suite“.
