Regisseur Ondrej Havelka fängt viel mehr als nur eine Bühnenaufführung ein: Durch die Kombination historischer Details mit moderner psychologischer Interpretation wählt er einen filmischen Ansatz, der uns buchstäblich hinter die Kulissen dieses einzigartigen Veranstaltungsortes führt. Bejun Mehta , „heutzutage wohl der beste Countertenor der Welt“ (Süddeutsche Zeitung), verleiht den Emotionen, die Orfeos Herz quälen, Glaubwürdigkeit. Als seine geliebte Euridice jongliert die österreichische Sopranistin Eva Liebau mit Freude und Eifersucht. Regula Mühlemann als Amore verleiht dem düsteren Ton des Werks komische Erleichterung und schickt die Sterblichen fröhlich im Zickzack auf ihren Weg ins Leben, in die Liebe und vielleicht auch in den Tod. Unter der Leitung des Barockspezialisten Václav Luks werden die großartigen Solisten vom Prager Orchester und Vokalensemble Collegium 1704 und Collegium Vocale 1704 unterstützt . Dies ist die perfekte Neuerscheinung, um Glucks 300-jähriges Jubiläum im Jahr 2014 zu feiern!
