Mars, 2316. Das kürzlich gegründete Terraforming-Komitee entscheidet über die dramatische Entwicklung des Mars durch mächtige Konkurrenzunternehmen. Als ein abtrünniger Asteroid in ein Forschungszentrum stürzt und dessen einzelnen Techniker tötet, gerät das fragile Gleichgewicht zwischen den Unternehmen aus dem Gleichgewicht. Die Untersuchung des Unfalls durch die Weltregierung deckt eine Vielzahl von Motiven auf, während ein Unternehmensinsider auf eine dunkle Verschwörung stößt. Zwei Marsianer mit sehr unterschiedlichen Absichten müssen sich auf eine Spur der Zerstörung und des Verrats begeben, um die Wahrheit ans Licht zu bringen und die Verantwortlichen zu entlarven, bevor der Mars der Verderbnis der Erde zum Opfer fällt. Während die Grenzen zwischen Fortschritt und Menschlichkeit verschwimmen, bleibt der Mars selbst der größte Gegner von allen.
