Henry Horatio Hobson (Oscar-Gewinner Charles Laughton) ist der Besitzer eines etablierten Schuhgeschäfts im Salford, Lancashire des 19. Jahrhunderts und Vater von drei Töchtern. Die Älteste, Maggie (Brenda de Banzie), übernimmt sowohl häusliche als auch geschäftliche Pflichten, während Hobson die Zeit im örtlichen Pub verbringt. Die jüngeren Schwestern werden beide von Nachbarn umworben, aber Hobson weigert sich, dem Paar eine Abfindung zu gewähren. Maggie hat sein albernes Verhalten satt und beschließt, die Sache selbst in die Hand zu nehmen und einen Ehemann zu suchen.
Sehr zur Heiterkeit und Bestürzung ihres Vaters nimmt die alte Jungfer Maggie den schüchternen Will Mossop (John Mills), Hobsons Schuhmachermeister, ins Visier. Mossop ist zunächst verblüfft über den Vorschlag, stimmt aber schließlich Maggies maßgeblicher Überzeugung zu und gemeinsam eröffnen sie einen konkurrierenden Stiefelladen. Ein zeitloses Meisterwerk, das eine vorübergehende Rückkehr zu Davis Leans historischen Dickens-Adaptionen („Great Expectations“, „Oliver Twist“) markierte. Der Film gewann mehrere Auszeichnungen.

Ma commande est arrivé en moins de 2 semaines, dans un emballage qui n’est pas abîmé tout comme la figurine qui n’a aucun défauts, il y a tous les accessoires. Je recommande de l’acheter à 100% de plus ce site est l’un des seuls sites vraiment fiables où vous trouverez cette figurine à un bon prix et une très bonne qualité sachant qu’elle commence à être en rupture de stock. PS: achetez cette figurine uniquement ici, je l’avais commandé sur Amaz*n pour un peu moins cher pour au final recevoir autre chose et donc me faire arnaquer. Sinon super bonne expérience avec YACHEW je rachèterai sûrement.
