Das Land Kilforth ist ein gefährliches Reich voller ruchloser Monster, mysteriöser Fremder und tückischer Orte und wird in seinem Zentrum von The Sprawl dominiert, einer riesigen Stadt, in der unerschrockene Helden ihre Reise zu Ruhm und Reichtum beginnen. Überall im Land wetteifern verschiedene Fraktionen um die Macht übereinander, etwa der vermeintlich edle Rosenorden oder die furchteinflößende Doom Guard. Und über die Welt außerhalb von Kilforth herrscht der allgegenwärtige Overlord Masklaw. Im Laufe des kommenden Monats wird eine tödliche Dunkelheit über Kilforth hereinbrechen, durch die die Helden kämpfen müssen, um ihren Wert zu beweisen, ein uraltes Übel zu besiegen und das Land vor der Dunkelheit zu retten.
Gloom of Kilforth ist ein High-Fantasy-Kartenspiel mit Gothic-Touch, das in 1–3 Stunden spielbar ist und in dem 1–4 Spieler einzeln oder gemeinsam ihre bescheidenen Abenteurer auf eine Reise durch eine dunkle Welt voller Magie und Gefahren mitnehmen müssen. Auf ihrer Mission, mysteriöse Artefakte und mystische Zaubersprüche zu entdecken, werden sie seltsame Orte und fremde Menschen besuchen und mächtige Feinde besiegen. Die Spieler verfolgen die Geschichte ihres Helden von bescheidenen Anfängen über eine epische Geschichte bis hin zu einem spannenden, entscheidenden Kampf um das Schicksal der Welt. Die Spielzeit von Gloom of Kilforth beträgt pro Spieler etwa 45 Minuten.
