Die klügsten Köpfe der Generation kommen auf der Großen Wissenschaftsmesse zusammen. Am Ende wird nur einer mit der blauen Schleife davonkommen. Wer wird beweisen, dass er der Beste ist, dass er schnell denken und seine Maschinen effizient bauen kann? Nur ein Teilnehmer schafft es an die Spitze.
In In Gizmos schlüpfen die Spieler in die Rolle von Teilnehmern der Großen Wissenschaftsmesse. Sie pflücken Energiemurmeln aus dem innovativen Energiespender aus Kunststoff, konstruieren daraus neue Gizmos und fügen sie ihren Maschinen hinzu. Spieler müssen beim Bauen im Voraus planen, da Gizmos aufeinander reagieren können. Je mehr Gizmos hinzugefügt werden, desto mehr Reaktionen können ausgelöst werden, wodurch einige wirklich epische Wendungen entstehen. Am Ende wird der Spieler mit den meisten Siegpunkten zum Sieger erklärt.
