Das 2019 in LA ansässige Unternehmen Cuffed Up entstand aus der Suche nach „Selbstakzeptanz und Selbstverwirklichung“. Inmitten einer gemeinsamen Affinität zur ständig wachsenden globalen Post-Punk-Szene hauchen das Sänger- und Gitarristen-Duo Ralph Torrefranca und Sapphire Jewell, der Bassist Vic Ordonez und der Schlagzeuger Joe Liptock dem wiederauflebenden Genre neues Leben ein. Auf der neuesten EP des Quartetts, Asymmetry, tat sich die Band mit dem Produzenten Brad Wood (Touch Amor, Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair) zusammen und verbrachte eine Woche damit, die Songs durch Experimentieren mit Sounds und Ideen zu verfeinern. Das Ergebnis ist eine gemeinsame Anstrengung, die sich mit der eigenen Sterblichkeit, dem Verlassen von Beziehungen und dem Umgang mit Scham auseinandersetzt. Jetzt bei Royal Mountain Records (Alvvays, Mac DeMarco, METZ, Wild Pink) unter Vertrag, erweitert Asymmetry ihr erfrischendes selbstbetiteltes Debüt, das von Künstlern wie KEXP, NME, DIY, Bandcamp und The Line Of Best Fit geliebt wurde sowie Steve Lamacq (BBC Radio 6), Daniel P Carter (BBC Radio 1) und John Kennedy (Radio X) und ein Support-Auftritt mit Silversun Pickups.
