„Ascending“ ist die künstlerische Vision von Jan Prax (Alt- und Sopransaxophon, Komposition, Bandleader), mit Einflüssen aus dem Straight Ahead Jazz der 1950er und 1960er Jahre, der Avantgarde-Bewegung der 1960er Jahre, Hip Hop sowie Rhythmus und Blues. Wie schon bei der Vorgängerproduktion „Keepin‘ a Style Alive“ (ACT) steht auch bei dieser Aufnahme das Akustik-Jazz-Quartett mit herausragenden Partnern wie Martin Soros (Klavier & Fender Rhodes, Komposition), Tilman Oberbeck (Kontrabass) und Michael Mischl ( Schlagzeug), diesmal mit einer erweiterten Besetzung durch die hochkarätigen Gäste Bodek Janke (Tabla & Percussion) und Soweto Kinch (Rap & Altsaxophon). Jan Prax begann seine musikalische Ausbildung im Alter von drei Jahren am Klavier und gewann als klassischer Pianist zahlreiche Preise. In seiner Jugend wuchs sein Interesse am Jazzsaxophon rasant und er erhielt das Stipendium für Hochbegabte des Badischen Konservatoriums. Er studierte bei Laszlo Wolpert und Peter Lehel und erlangte seinen Bachelor-Abschluss mit Auszeichnung bei Professor Klaus Graf. Derzeit studiert er seinen Master in München.

Amazing customer service!

I bought two Star Wars X-Wing expansions from Yachew. One expansion arrived damaged, but Paul from Customer Services was fantastic, quickly refunding me. I've got to say that Yachew's customer service is amongst the best I've encountered and I can't wait to shop with them again!
