Anschließend wurde Arise mit vier Bonustracks erneut veröffentlicht – darunter die monumentale Vernichtung von „Orgasmatron“ durch die Band – und unterstreicht Sepulturas unwiderlegbare stilistische Verwandtschaft mit . Das harmonische Zusammenspiel zwischen Max Cavaleras grundsolider Rhythmusarbeit und Andreas Kissers Leadlines – gelegentlich das sechssaitige Äquivalent eines voll aufgedrehten Zahnarztbohrers – ist verheerend. Max‘ gequälte Stimme weigert sich derweil absolut, Gefangene zu machen, während die rhythmische Batterie von Bruder Igor reine, uneingeschränkte Aggression ist. Momente der Zurückhaltung, wie auf dem durchaus erstaunlichen „Altered State“, betonen lediglich die typische Brutalität der Band. Auch aus historischer Sicht behält Arise seinen ursprünglichen schmachvollen Reiz; ein unverzichtbarer Kauf. --Ian Fortnam
