Mit „Heavy Steps“, dem Nachfolger des von der Kritik gefeierten Albums „Outsider“ aus dem Jahr 2017, kehren die Hardcore-Veteranen sowohl geografisch als auch musikalisch zu ihren Wurzeln zurück. Obwohl die Mitglieder der Band derzeit auf verschiedenen Seiten des Landes in Vancouver und Toronto leben, beschloss die Band, ihr neuestes Werk in der Heimatstadt der Band, Winnipeg, Manitoba, im Private Ear Recording Studio zu schreiben und aufzunehmen, und nahm erneut die Dienste in Anspruch des Produzenten John Paul Peters, der das Debütalbum der Band „Turn It Around“ aufgenommen hat. Zusätzlich zur Koproduktion von Peters arbeitete die Band bei „Heavy Steps“ mit dem bekannten Grammy-preisgekrönten Mixer und langjährigen Fan der Band Will Putney zusammen. Mit einem Gastauftritt von Joe Duplantier von Gojira ist das neue Album 2022 keine Voraussetzung mehr, um den Einfluss von Comeback Kid auf den modernen Punk zu verwirklichen, sondern eine Lieferung puren hymnischen Chaos, purer Geschwindigkeit und Kraft. Es handelt sich um eine Absichtserklärung.
