BEAUCERON is the new album from the genius songwriter/guitarist, PETE GREENWOOD. It follows his critically acclaimed debut, Sirens (Uncut Magazine Top 50 choice). This latest album was produced by STEPHEN CRACKNELL and includes vocals by Mercury Prize nominated singer, LOU RHODES, of LAMB. The first single to be taken from the album, 'The 88', was quoted by NOEL GALLAGHER in Q Magazine as a song he wished he'd written and was met with wide praise when released. After studying a degree at London's Goldsmiths university, Greenwood found himself on a world tour with Mojave 3 as a guitarist, only four songs to his name, a record deal with Heavenly waiting back in London, and an extensive tour schedule and studio commitments with The Loose Salute. On returning, and after a hectic ten days of writing and recording, eventually Pete's debut Sirens was released in 2008 to much critical acclaim (making it into Uncut's "top 50 albums of 2008"), and saw him touring Europe extensively for 18 months. During this time Pete joined The See See after a chance meeting in a London pub and recorded two psychedelic gems with them, again touring extensively in support of the albums. Having bunkered down to solo work again Pete spent a year in an old school overlooking Bunhill Fields where William Blake is buried, working with Stephen Cracknell of The Memory Band. Pete plays the majority of instruments on the album himself, something that means the finished product sounds closer to what he had in mind than anything on his debut. The 88 was released as a 7" single in July of 2013 and received much praise and radio play. Having decamped to deepest darkest Yorkshire, Pete is continuing to write more solo material, and gigging with sometime cohorts The Arcadians. The next single is the album opener, Me and Molly , a Belle & Sebastian like folk-out that depicts the lonely daily drag of a musician and his pet dog as they wander the streets and take in the pubs and smells of the city. It is due for release on iTunes and all other digital retailers on Friday 18th September. Greenwood will be touring the UK extensively in September and October. Dates to follow.
