Marking seventy glorious years on the throne, the LP includes a selection of music from the BBC's broadcast of the Coronation Service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey on 2nd June 1953, including much-loved classics such as Parry's 'I was Glad', Handel's 'Zadok the Priest', Vaughan Williams' 'O taste and see', and the first ever recorded performance of the National Anthem, 'God Save the Queen'. The cover features Cecil Beaton's official coronation portrait, plus a facsimile of the gothic type from the original 1953 HMV commemorative 3LP set.
