Product Description
Famed for his eighties recordings on Charlie Gillet's Oval Records and, later, Miles Copeland's IRS, with hits such as 'The Eyes Have It' and 'Hey Matthew', singer-songwriter Karel Fialka is back with his most striking work yet on Peace v War. A musically startling, lyrically angry yet eternally hopeful commentary on our modern world, the album deals with the major themes of our time - war, hunger, inequality, political chicanery and media manipulation - passionately but never preachy. Recorded with the Racecar project (aka Kevin McGowan and Richard Rogers) in Gozo, this 12" vinyl edition features the iconic cover artwork of Grammy Design Award nominee Mike Ross.
Review
Having hooked up with Kevin McGowan and Richard Rodgers, aka Racecar, Fialka uses this album to encapsulate the frustration of the disenfranchised generation, and reminds us that not everyone over 50 is riding high on the baby boomer wave of wealth. Fialka's voice is a gritty growl along the lines of Leonard Cohen's later work. He's straight on the attack, calling out corruption and greed on opening track Political Animal. It's a fitting launch, and could be taken as a summary of Fialka himself... He's seen it all, lived it. And now he's distilled it all into a dense document of life in the 21st century - 8/10. --Christopher Nosnibor, whisperinandhollerin.com
A lyrically sharp and emotionally irritable collection of songs looking at themes which are impacting on the modern world such as war, hunger, inequality, political chicanery and media manipulation. Musically though, it is a flavoursome maze of tracks which are as catchy and bright as their narratives are biting and dark. --The RingMaster Review, February 25th, 2016

I've made a journey back to the vinyl records by buying a turntable and amplifier and decided to purchase the division bell on vinyl by pink Floyd as it's one of the best albums I've ever heard..
I was able to purchase a sealed copy of this long deleted rare edition of album Avonmore via Yachew who shipped it promptly. Their price was the best online.
