Julian "Cannonball" Adderley was a trailblazing alto saxophonist whose emotive style and technical prowess made him one of the most influential figures in jazz. Emerging in the mid-1950s, Adderley quickly gained recognition for his ability to blend bebop's complexity with soulful, accessible melodies. His collaborations with Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and others cemented his legacy as a jazz icon.
