Erland Cooper's 'Carve the Runes Then Be Content With Silence' is a groundbreaking album that blends classical composition with a profound connection to nature. The project began with the burial of the only master tape deep into the Orkney soil, where it was left to be 'recomposed' by the earth for three years. This unique process results in a recording that is as much a collaboration with nature as it is a musical composition. The album features a three-movement piece for solo violin and string ensemble, inspired by the landscapes of Orkney and the centenary of celebrated poet George Mackay Brown.
