From fiery fiddle tunes to a Caribbean sleigh ride, this surprising and delightful holiday fiesta heats up when Sultans of String bring their signature sound to well known gems such as Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, The Huron Carol (with newly-translated Indigenous lyrics), a djembe-driven Little Drummer Boy, a Feliz Navidad ska party, Kwanzaa with Richard Bona, a Turkish twist on Greensleeves, as well as a Gypsy-jazz inspired Django Christmas, and a Rumba Flamenca-fuelled Jingle Bells. Extraordinary special guests include Grammy and JUNO winners Alex Cuba, Anwar Khurshid, Benoit Bourque (La Bottine Souriante), Crystal Shawanda, David Charrier, a Turkish string collective Gndem Yayli Grubu, Luba Mason, Mary Fahl (October Project), Nikki Yanofsky, Paddy Moloney (The Cheiftains), Rebecca Campbell, Richard Bona, Ruben Blades, Sweet Honey in the Rock and Waleed Abdulhamid, as well as the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. At the core of the band's sound is Chris McKhool's (Jesse Cook, Pavlo) bold and fiery fiddle, melded seamlessly with founding guitarist Kevin Lalibert's (Jesse Cook) rumba rhythm-- together their musical synergy created Sultans of String's signature sound ? the intimate and playful relationship between violin and guitar. Added to this rich foundation are bass master Drew Birston (Chantal Kreviazuk), guitar wizard Eddie Paton, Cuban percussion master Rosendo Chendy Leon (Alex Cuba).
