Glasgow-based noise-pop band Japan Review have been through numerous incarnations in their relatively short existence. Now a duo made up of Genna Foden and Adam O’Sullivan, they will release their debut album, Kvetch Sounds, on October 29th via Reckless Yes. Building on the band’s shoegaze foundations, Kvetch Sounds sees Japan Review pushing sonically into a more experimental territory, opting to embrace electronic instruments and celebrate the limitations of their more stripped back line up. The result is a truly expansive debut that twists and turns through different tempos, and even genres, without ever losing its way. It follows on from previous releases with Reckless Yes - 2019’s debut EP JUNO, and stand-alone single from later that same year On Auto Now. Kvetch Sounds is an expansive and exhilarating debut, bubbling with invention and ideas that leave the listener wondering where Japan Review will go from here. It seems possible that even they don’t know, but that’s all part of their charm. Product Vinyl: 12” standard weight eco-coloured vinyl, full colour outer sleeve, colour printed inner sleeve, shrinkwrapped. Eco vinyl is a lucky dip colour due to the manufacturing process. Previous coverage for Japan Review “Steeped in hazy lo-fi sensibilities and permeated with experimental yet dreamy nu-gaze vibes, ‘Japan Review’ inject drone, analog synth and impressionistic twists into their collective modernistic sound” - Primal Music. They have Mogwai’s ability to torture and nourish the soul in one achingly blistering piece of art.” - Traveller’s Tunes Album release campaign A full campaign across print, online, and radio is set to be delivered with support from Someone Great PR. Three singles will lead in to the album release - Competition Winner, Kvetch Sounds, and Channel Waves. Live dates Spot dates in Scotland planned through summer (subject to restrictions at date of gig) with a UK tour planned in Spring 2022 with dates to be announced.

I've made a journey back to the vinyl records by buying a turntable and amplifier and decided to purchase the division bell on vinyl by pink Floyd as it's one of the best albums I've ever heard..
