'Maria Friedman Celebrates The Great British Songbook' is based on a concert of the same name that Maria first performed at the Shaw Theatre in February 2009 consisting of a collection of the very best songs the British Isles have produced, including selections of popular music, classical music and standards from musical theatre. For Friedman, who has long been one of the leading lights of the West End and Broadway in musicals by everyone from Sondheim and Lloyd Webber to Rodgers and Hammerstein, it's an opportunity to explore a vast repertoire - a typically challenging and imaginative programme from an artist renowned for her versatility.
