Arkham Horror: The Card Game is a cooperative tabletop game that allows players to take on the role of investigators in the world of H P Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. The game is designed for one to two players, or up to four players with the use of two core sets. Each player's investigator is represented by a deck of cards that reflects their unique skills, strengths, and weaknesses.

The game is structured around a series of adventures or scenarios that can be played individually or combined to form a campaign. As players progress through a campaign and acquire new expansions, they have the opportunity to customize their investigator decks to better suit their playstyle and better prepare for the challenges that the game presents.

The Investigator Starter Pack is a new range of products released in 2020 that includes five different packs, each focused on a different character. These packs provide players with a pre-constructed, ready-to-play 34-card deck, as well as an additional 26 cards that can be used to upgrade the deck as the campaign progresses. The five investigator packs feature the following characters: Harvey Walters, a Seeker with a playstyle focused on solving mysteries and uncovering clues; Nathaniel Cho, a Guardian with a playstyle centered on supporting the team and fighting monsters; Winifred Habbamock, a Rogue with a playstyle focused on extra actions and adaptability; Jacqueline Fine, a Mystic with a playstyle centered on spell casting; and Stella Clark, a Survivor with a playstyle that utilizes stealth and evasion to resolve encounters.
