This album results from a unique collaboration between ten musicians from much-admired Congolese bands, Konono No.1 and Kasai Allstars, and ten distinguished Western avant-rock artists - Deerhoof, Juana Molina, Skeletons and Wildbirds & Peacedrums.
During ten years and across four continents, new commom languages were created by the participants, who worked to combine the traditional electrified music of the Congolese artists and the various experimental rock styles of the European and American members. The writing process began in 2010 by exchanging files between Kinshasa DRC, Buenos Aires, New Mexico, New York, Stockholm and Brooklyn. The supergroup then performed 16 spectacular shows in 2011. This album consists of concert recordings processed and mixed by Deerhoof's Greg Saunier and studio recordings conducted at the time and during the following years. Where's the One was finally completed in 2021. The front cover art is a drawing by Juana Molina, portraying all the participants. Press: "A decade on, the fabled Congotronics vs Rockers band finally sealed on wax...If you've waited 11 years for this, you'll be relieved to know it won't disappoint." - **** MOJO "Molina engages in a lovely duet with Konono's Célestin Tshisense Kabongo on "Ambulayi Tshaniye"; a haunting interweaving with Kasai which leads into the full band krautrock-style rave up of Bombo & Sifflets; and another exquisite Molina/Kasai collaboration, now buoyed by a soukous-like groove, "Mulume/Change."- The Wire "Molina's performances, in particular, really shine here - the psychedelic rounds of "Resila" are somehow both peaceable and careening - and the tracks for massed likembes, like "Kule Kule Redux" benefit from the extra charge such a huge backing can offer." - Uncut

I've made a journey back to the vinyl records by buying a turntable and amplifier and decided to purchase the division bell on vinyl by pink Floyd as it's one of the best albums I've ever heard..
I was able to purchase a sealed copy of this long deleted rare edition of album Avonmore via Yachew who shipped it promptly. Their price was the best online.
