Action-Blockbuster von Marvel Comics, in dem der Wissenschaftler Dr. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) nach dem Heilmittel für sein lebensveränderndes Alter Ego sucht. Ironischerweise sehnt er sich danach, mit der einzigen Frau zusammen zu sein, die er jemals geliebt hat, Betty Ross (Liv Tyler), die zufällig die Tochter seines wichtigsten Militärgegners, General Thaddeus „Thunderbolt“ Ross (William Hurt), ist.
