Camila was born in Chile to a family of artists before moving to Switzerland at the age of three. As a child, she learnt the piano, guitar, saxophone and tin whistle and has had a lifelong passion for folk music. Camila moved to London in 2008 and graduated from the London School of Dramatic Art a year later. Since graduating, Camila has co-founded a theatre company in Switzerland and appeared in various plays, musicals and music videos. A Thousand Doors was recorded in Milan with sound engineer Matteo Sandri (Giovanni Allevi and Sananda Maitreya). She takes inspiration from film directors such as Tim Burton, musicians including Laura Marling and Ed Sheeran and various fantasy novels. Growing up, she enjoyed a wide range of music, from Latin American Folk artists (Inti-Illimani and Violeta Parra) to soundtrack composers (Danny Elfman and James Horner) and from classical music to pop and rock music (Michael Jackson and The Cranberries). Camila frequently collaborates with Swiss musician Elias Bertini of the band Zero in On. The pair co-wrote Your Perfume and Elephant which reached the Swiss semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 and 2015.
