CLASSIC 1996 BROADCAST RECORDING FROM NICK & THE BAD SEEDS • By the time of the band’s 1996 performance at the Bizarre Festival on 17th August, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds were enjoying their most successful time to date. Their latest album Murder Ballads, released in February ‘96, was their best-selling record yet, having topped the charts in three countries and reached the Top 10 in a further five. This was aided in no small part by Nick Cave’s duet with Kylie Minogue on ‘Where The Wild Roses Grow’, a worldwide hit which earned the band two ARIA awards. The video was on MTV regularly, and they would later nominate Nick Cave for Best Male Artist at the MTV Awards. • Nick and the Seeds toured Europe, Asia and South America in support of the album, and it is their performance at the Bizarre Festival in Germany that is included here. Recorded and broadcast on FM radio throughout Europe and the United States – the latter of whom had curiously been left off the tour’s itinerary - the group captured the dark, brooding nature of Murder Ballads perfectly in their set, which included classics from their back catalogue such as ‘The Weeping Song’ and ‘The Mercy Seat’ as well. As a grand finale, the band were joined by PJ Harvey - with whom Cave was romantically linked at the time - for a rendition of ‘Henry Lee’. • As a bonus feature on this CD, a seven minute ‘chat’ between Nick and Kylie from 1996 is also included, during which this pair of unlikely bedfellows appear to get on majestically as they discuss all and sundry. I've made a journey back to the vinyl records by buying a turntable and amplifier and decided to purchase the division bell on vinyl by pink Floyd as it's one of the best albums I've ever heard..
I was able to purchase a sealed copy of this long deleted rare edition of album Avonmore via Yachew who shipped it promptly. Their price was the best online.
